BYD Seal and BYD Dolphin Achieve Five-Star ANCAP Safety Ratings

Recently, the BYD Dolphin and BYD Seal achieved a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) based on the latest ANCAP testing criteria.ANCAP, the independent authority for vehicle safety in Australia and New Zealand, has updated its testing standards in 2023. To receive a five-star safety rating, vehicles must excel in all tests and incorporate advanced safety assistance technologies.As per an ANCAP report, the BYD Seal earned a perfect score in safeguarding the driver during the oblique pole test and ensuring the safety of child passengers in the side impact test. It achieved an 89 percent rating for protecting adult occupants, 87 percent for child occupants, 82 percent for safeguarding vulnerable road users, and 75 percent for safety assistance. These results underscore BYD's unwavering dedication to safety.The BYD Dolphin achieved maximum points for shielding child occupants in both frontal and side-impact assessments. Notably, the BYD Dolphin achieved a remarkable 85% score for the protection of vulnerable road users, the highest among all models tested in 2023.Both of these models exhibited satisfactory performance with their AEB Head-On system. Additionally, they feature a "door opening" functionality, which aligns with the new ANCAP criteria. This technology allows doors to remain unlocked for two minutes after the vehicle enters a body of water.Previously, the BYD Seal and BYD Dolphin had also earned five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP. Moving forward, BYD is dedicated to upholding stringent safety standards, leveraging advanced technologies like e-Platform 3.0 and cutting-edge driver-assistance systems to ensure safe travel for its global customers.
